There is a moment on your first dive when breathing underwater starts to feel normal. We give you time to get there.
A first dive at your own pace
We introduce the equipment, explain the signals you’ll use and help you practise the basics before exploring a suitable reef. Tell your instructor if you’re nervous or need to slow down. You don’t have to pretend to be confident.
This is an introductory experience, not a scuba certification. If you would like to earn your first qualification, take a look at our PADI Open Water course.
Choose your beginner experience
| Experience | Price per person |
|---|---|
| One introductory scuba dive + snorkelling | ฿3,300 |
| Two introductory scuba dives | ฿3,900 |
Pay ฿900 per diver online. That leaves ฿2,400 for the dive-and-snorkel option or ฿3,000 for two introductory dives.
What’s included?
- Scuba equipment, tanks and weights
- Instructor introduction, preparation and supervised diving
- Local Pattaya or Jomtien pickup arrangements
- Breakfast and coffee, Thai lunch, refreshments and towels on the standard boat day
How the day works
Pickup is usually between 07:30 and 08:15, or we arrange a meeting at Bali Hai Pier around 08:30. Copperband 1 normally leaves around 09:00 and returns around 16:00–16:30. Your confirmation contains the meeting instructions for your date.
Briefings, equipment preparation and surface intervals are part of the day. We choose the diving area for conditions and the group rather than promise a specific reef or wildlife sighting.
Before you book
Participants must meet the age, medical and programme requirements. Contact us before paying if you’re booking for a child, are unsure about water confidence or have a question about eligibility. Medical participant paperwork is handled separately from this website form.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. Equipment is included. Send us your sizes before the trip so we can prepare it.
Can my friend join if they’re already certified?
Tell us when booking. Certified divers should select the appropriate fun-diving option; we’ll discuss the arrangements for your group.
Will I become a certified diver?
No. Try Diving is a supervised introduction. Open Water training is the route to your first certification.
